Show your love for the pond by turning up in your swimwear to walk from King’s Cross station up to the pond. Meet at 9.15 am, Tuesday 18 October at the Henry Moore statue outside King’s Cross station. Book your swim for the 10 AM session (www.kingscrosspond.club - don't worry if you have problems booking, just turn up) where TV doctor Chris van Tulleken will be at the pond to swim and to discuss the benefits of cold water swimming.
Wear your favourite swimwear and bring (and wear) snorkels, flippers, arm bands and rubber rings, flowery hats, etc. You might also need warm clothes on top (to be removed 9.20 for the parade up to the pond), rucksacks to carry your clothes, and a thermos of hot drink. We’ll arrive at the pond 9.45, in time for hot drinks before we swim – and perhaps warm up exercises or dance!
It’s a big day for the campaign to save King’s Cross pond – one week before it is due to close for good. We need to persuade Argent (the developer that established the pond) to seek permission from Camden Council to extend its life so that they can consult on keeping it and so that we can look into fundraising to pay for it to continue.
