Catholic Church: We Demand active anti-racism and respect for black people
The Catholic Church is quick to declare how its principles of universality of salvation and equality of all humans are contrary to racism. Does that mean the Catholic Church is not racist?
Far from that! You simply need to look at the application of these principles in missionary theology and all the atrocities committed by the Catholic Church for centuries everywhere it has passed in the world to realize that this institution has been deeply racist and has a long way to go before declaring itself effectively non-racist and even anti-racist.
The Catholic Church should already begin to offer symbolic representations free of racism and anti-racist if it wants the qualifiers non-racist and anti-racist.
Angels do not have a race and neither do demons. The Catholic Church should find local artists who can represent their ideals and principles without insulting an entire people, without criminalizing the Black and sanctifying the White. If you ask me, demons are war, famine, poverty, diseases and all the people and organizations that contribute to those.
Let's spot all similar problematic statues and representations and demand their immediate removal!
