While our Churches are closed, Kmart, Bunnings, KFC and Uber continue to operate. At what point did we deem retail more "necessary" than the Sacraments?

Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Saviour, ministered to lepers. In the past, the Catholic Church has followed our Lord's example throughout the various plagues, wars and catastrophes that have ravaged the world. Take, for example, St Damien of Molokai, who gave his life serving the sick and dying in the leper colonies of Hawaii.

As long as standard retail is considered an "essential" service, we need to demand that our churches are held in the same regard. Jesus Christ, Who is present in the most Holy Sacrament of the Eucharist (the source and summit of the Christian life!), Who forgives sins in the confessional and Who anoints the dying in their last bitter agonies of life is being Sacramentally denied to those who need Him most.
