Wow, I'm so excited to share this news — Aramark has released its welfare policy for the millions of broiler chickens in its supply chain and it addresses all of our asks! Aramark is now committed to improve the environment by adding enrichments, reduce stocking density, move to strains of birds that measurably improve welfare, and switch over to controlled atmosphere stunning. These changes will significantly reduce the suffering of tens of millions of birds, and it couldn't have happened with out your help. In regards to the fundraiser, I will be transferring the funds directly to The Humane League for their next campaign that builds off of this momentum. Since Compass Group released its welfare policy for chickens today as well, that only leaves Sodexo as one of the major foodservice companies yet to address these issues.
