One of the key recommendations of the Old Town Small Area Plan was developing ‘The Spine’ - "a safe and comfortable pedestrian and bicycle connection linking Northfax, Old Town, and the George Mason University (GMU) campus". The Old Town Visioning Committee sought for Old Town Fairfax to be a "vibrant destination for all people to connect, innovate, and share unique experiences”. Non-vehicular traffic from the Mosby Woods neighborhood, Northfax, and travelers from across the county would funnel into the George Snyder Trail and be directed to the Old Town area. 

     The George Snyder Trail is also considered a vital component in the local and regional transportation network.

   We urge you to write the Mayor and City Council to ask that they approve the the trail project before time runs out on its $20 Million funding grant.  MayorandCouncil@fairfaxva.gov
