NIL refers to the use of an athlete’s name, image and likeness through marketing and promotional endeavors. South Carolina high school athletes that are less fortunate do not have the funds to participate in off-season/travel sports. 
       These athletes are missing opportunities to gain exposure by college coaches, go to technique camps, and compete at the national level  
       We as a state are behind other states when it comes to helping our athletes advance in their sport. By approving NIL deals, we are creating opportunities for South Carolina high school athletes.
