The Issue

We, the Men’s Soccer Alumni of Oakland University, petition the Athletic Department of the University to appoint Paul Doroh as the next Head Men’s Soccer Coach for the Golden Grizzly Men’s Soccer Program.

We believe that Paul Doroh is the best choice for this position. Paul has done an outstanding job as the Associate Head Men’s Coach and also as the Interim Head Men’s Coach in Eric Pogue’s absence. Paul has done a tremendous job of guiding the program through uncertainties caused by the head coach’s medical absence and has proved he is more than capable of taking over this prestigious program. He guided the men’s team to the regular season Horizon League Championship and led them to the Championship Game of the Conference Tournament. He made the necessary tactical adjustments with the team early in the season that turned them into an excellent team that was defensively hard to penetrate and attacked quickly and effectively. Paul also demonstrated his head coaching abilities last summer for the USL2 Flint City Bucks when he led that team to the Regular Season Championship and to the National Semifinal playoffs where they were narrowly defeated.

Paul has a very long and distinguished association with the men’s soccer program at Oakland, has strong ties with the soccer community in Michigan and has his roots solidly planted in this community and with
Oakland University. The Alumni strongly believe he will lead Men’s Soccer to Conference Championships, NCAA appearances and victories in the NCAA playoffs.

Furthermore, the undersigned alumni of the Men’s Soccer Program pledge to initiate a fund-raising effort for Men’s Soccer this spring if Paul is appointed Head Coach.
