I was chatting with a colleague and wanted to end our conversation with the handshake emoji — when I realized, there are no interracial handshake emoji. No diversity of race.

There was no way for us to represent ourselves by using this small gesture to demonstrate our collaboration, mutual respect and understanding.

Why is that? We have diverse farmer emojis, diverse manicure emojis, there's even a black Mrs Claus! But there's no emoji for the most universal sign of respect between two different races? Let's fix that. 

This is a petition to tell Apple, Google and Facebook to include an interracial handshake in their emoji library. 

Because, even though we can't shake hands in person, we should still be able to shake as equals.
