Santo Padre Francisco: 

Los aquí firmantes, encabezados por las víctimas y sus familias, los miembros de las comunidades campesinas de Piura, los periodistas encausados arbitrariamente por una justicia corrupta y cualquier ciudadano honesto del Perú y de otros países en los que el Sodalicio de Vida Cristiana ha tenido presencia, respaldamos las medidas que se vienen tomando en el caso de esta sociedad de vida apostólica.

Le agradecemos su iniciativa de enviar la misión especial conformada por Mons. Charles Scicluna y Mons Jordi Bertomeu y, en particular, la profesionalidad y empatía que ésta ha demostrado con todas aquellas víctimas y sobrevivientes de abusos físicos y sexuales con sadismo y violencia, abuso de conciencia y sectarismo, abuso espiritual y manipulación, abuso del cargo y de autoridad, abuso en la administración de los bienes eclesiásticos con fraude al Estado y a la propia Iglesia, abuso en el ejercicio del apostolado en el periodismo. 

En nuestro respaldo incondicional a esta misión especial, también nos solidarizamos con ella mediante rechazo público a los injustos ataques mediáticos que Mons. Scicluna y Mons. Bertomeu vienen sufriendo por parte de miembros del Sodalicio y de algunos allegados a este grupo. 

Santo Padre, a pesar de que la misión especial fue tardía, por la efectividad con la que ha actuado está siendo una bendición para la Iglesia y para nuestros países, tantas veces acostumbrados a una cultura abusiva. 

Por ello, le rogamos que este proceso tan penoso concluya con las oportunas sanciones a quienes corresponda y con la reparación justa y adecuada que las víctimas del Sodalicio, de las Siervas del Plan de Dios, de la Fraternidad Mariana de la Reconciliación y de los exasociados del Movimiento de Vida Cristiana nunca han tenido hasta ahora. Esperamos que se llegue hasta las últimas consecuencias.

Holy Father Francis: 

The signatories here, led by the victims and their families, the members of the peasant communities of Piura, the journalists arbitrarily prosecuted by a corrupt justice system, and any honest citizen of Peru and other countries in which the Sodalicio de Vida Cristiana has had a presence, we support the measures that are being taken in the case of this society of apostolic life.

We thank you for your initiative to send the special mission made up of Mons. Charles Scicluna and Mons Jordi Bertomeu and, in particular, for the professionalism and empathy that it has demonstrated with all those victims and survivors of physical and sexual abuse with sadism and violence, abuse of conscience and sectarianism, spiritual abuse and manipulation, abuse of position and authority, abuse in the administration of ecclesiastical property with fraud to the State and the Church itself, abuse in the exercise of the apostolate in journalism. 

In our unconditional support for this special mission, we also express our solidarity with it through public rejection of the unjust media attacks that Mons. Scicluna and Mons. Bertomeu have been suffering from members of the Sodalicio and some close to this group. 

Holy Father, even though the special mission was late, due to the effectiveness with which you have acted, it is a blessing for the Church and our countries, so often accustomed to an abusive culture. 

Therefore, we ask that this excruciating process conclude with the appropriate sanctions to whom it corresponds and with the fair and adequate reparation that the victims of the Sodalicio, the Servants of the Plan of God, the Marian Fraternity of Reconciliation and the former associates of the Christian Life Movement have never had until now. We hope that justice is served till the end.
