For over two decades, shirt No. 7 has ceased to be merely a squad number for A Seleção. It has served as the ultimate emblem of Portuguese determination, excellence, and international triumph. Worn continuously by Cristiano Ronaldo, this jersey led Portugal from an era of unfulfilled potential into an era of champion status.

We, the undersigned, hereby call upon the Portuguese Football Federation to officially decommission and permanently retire the No. 7 jersey from the senior men’s national team upon the conclusion of Cristiano Ronaldo’s international career.
