I'm starting this petition in honour of my 10-month-old cat, Apollo. Apollo passed away on June 3rd, around 9AM, after being hit by a car, and left behind a family that loved him more than anything. Apollo never turned one, and we only had seven months with him. Apollo was left in the middle of the road, and the driver never told anyone they had hit Apollo. I lost my baby right outside my own house whilst I was asleep, and he was left alone. 

It's the law to inform the police if you hit a dog, but a cat is at a much higher risk of being hit by a car, and as they're typically smaller, they're at a higher risk of passing away when hit by a car. It should be law to inform police if you hit ANY animal, especially cats, with your car, because it would help many people heal to know who took their baby away.

This petition will help not only my family to know our other six babies are protected in case of similar events, but will help many others in case their cat meets the same fate as Apollo. 

August 2nd 2023 - June 3rd 2024. Apollo was 10 months and one day when he was taken from us. He deserved better.
