200 hundred local residents agree! We should keep the name ROSEBUD WEST!

Good Evening, Just a few days after launching our petition to save Rosebud West, we have received 200 signatories and almost half of these have explained in great detail why our community is against the proposal! This alone shows that the figures provided to council which appeared to show overwhelming support for the change are grossly overstated. Council plan to vote on whether or not to proceed with the next steps of the name change process at their general meeting on Monday evening. The vote will be based primarily on the documents and data provided by the people pushing for the change to Capel Sound (this in itself is a conflict of interest). The Capelsound3940 group claim in their proposal that an overwhelming majority support the name change. Our opinion is that this is simply untrue, we are constantly talking to people in the streets and people online who are absolutely devastated that our towns identity and character are at such a high risk. To help SAVE Rosebud West we need as much help as possible as quickly as possible. We must demonstrate to council how strong our community is and how passionate we are about keeping our current name! We need to do this asap, by Lunchtime Monday. This will help ensure the strong community of Rosebud West is in the front of Councillors minds when they vote on Monday evening! What can you do to help 1. Share the petition with other householders, friends, family, neighbors, stakeholders and others in our community. 2. IMPORTANT: Email our Councillors and tell them your feelings. It doesn't need to be a long letter just a message to let them know why you do not support the name change.
