Anthony Albanese Must Step Down: A Failure of Leadership on Antisemitism and Public Safety

The issue

We, the undersigned call on Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to step down from his position due to a sustained failure of leadership in the face of rising antisemitism, deteriorating public safety and unprecedented immigration pressures that have left Australians particularly Jewish Australians feeling unsafe in their own country.

Since 2022, Australia has witnessed a disturbing increase in antisemitic incidents, threats, harassment and violent rhetoric. Jewish communities have repeatedly raised concerns about their safety, only to be met with weak statements, delayed action and a failure to confront extremist ideologies with moral clarity and decisive leadership.

The Bondi attack marked a breaking point. It exposed not only a horrific act of violence, but a broader failure to address radicalisation, public safety risks and the social fragmentation that has been allowed to fester under this government. Australians expect leadership that protects life, confronts hate without equivocation and acts before tragedy not after it.

At the same time, Australia has absorbed over one million new arrivals since the end of COVID restrictions, without adequate infrastructure, housing, community integration or security planning. This rapid population growth has placed immense strain on social cohesion, emergency services, housing availability and public confidence. These pressures have not been responsibly managed and the consequences are now being felt nationwide.

Leadership is not measured by rhetoric alone. It is measured by outcomes by whether citizens feel protected, heard and represented. On antisemitism, public safety and immigration management this government has failed that test.

We are not calling for division. We are calling for accountability.

For the sake of social cohesion, public trust and the safety of all Australians, we believe Anthony Albanese should step down, allowing for new leadership capable of addressing these crises with the seriousness, courage and responsibility they demand.

By signing this petition, you are demanding accountability, responsible governance and leadership that places public safety and social cohesion above political convenience.

Australia deserves better. Silence is no longer acceptable
