Nous, communauté juive de Montréal et du Canada, nous ne nous sentons plus en sécurité. La projection prévue de plusieurs films et d’une soirée nommée « Du Fleuve à la Mer » au Cinéma du Parc est une source d'inquiétude pour nous. Ces présentations ont été critiquées pour leurs contenu qui peut être interprété comme antisémite et basé sur la haine des Juifs.

Selon les statistiques de l'Institut national de recherche démographique, l'antisémitisme a augmenté de 400% en 2023 (source : INRD). C'est un phénomène inquiétant qui doit être pris au sérieux. Autoriser ce type de projection pourrait contribuer à une atmosphère déjà tendue et potentiellement dangereuse pour notre communauté.

Nous demandons donc l'annulation immédiate de cette projection afin d'éviter toute incitation potentielle à la haine ou à l'intolérance. Nous demandons également que des mesures soient prises pour empêcher que ce type de contenu ne soit projeté dans le futur.

We, the Jewish community of Montreal and Canada, no longer feel safe. The scheduled screenings during an evening benefiting Gaza named “From the River to the Sea” at Cinema du Parc is a source of concern for us. These presentations have been criticized for their content, which can be interpreted as antisemitic and based on hatred of Jews.

According to the statistics from the National Institute of Demographic Research, antisemitism has increased by 400% in 2023 (source: INRD). This is a concerning phenomenon that must be taken seriously. Allowing this type of screening could contribute to an already tense and potentially dangerous atmosphere for our community.

Therefore, we request the immediate cancellation of this screening to prevent any potential incitement to hatred or intolerance. We also ask for measures to be taken to prevent such content from being screened in the future.
