Dear Rahele,

Thank you for getting in touch with us at UNICEF UK.

We are extremely concerned by reports of children and adolescents being killed, injured and detained in Iran. We are acutely aware also that many children have witnessed violence on the streets and in media broadcasts, and are concerned for their long-term wellbeing.

UNICEF is calling for the protection of all children from all forms of violence and harm, including during conflict and political events. Violence against children – by anyone and in any context – is indefensible. We also echo the Secretary-General’s call to the authorities to ‘refrain from using unnecessary or disproportionate force.’ Children and adolescents must be able to exercise their rights in a safe and peaceful manner at all times.

Please be assured that your message has been heard. Thank you once again for getting in contact.

Sincerely,

Jon Sparkes
