Friends,

Today matters. AAEA and AAPS are back at the bargaining table, and we want them to walk in knowing this community is watching and waiting for a fair contract.

Come stand with us this morning:

🤝 Ann Arbor Public Schools Board meets Ann Arbor Education Association at the bargaining table
🥐 Breakfast & Bargaining
📅 Today, Tuesday August 4 | 8:00–10:00 AM
📍 AAPS Administration Building, 3700 Earhart Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48105
📋 Details: https://www.facebook.com/events/3700-earhart-rd-ann-arbor-mi-48105-9001-united-states/breakfast-bargaining/1031225225965807/

AAEA swag welcome! Sign-making station, coffee, and donuts provided. Just show up.  That's it. The more people who gather outside, the louder the message to everyone walking into that building: Ann Arbor wants a fair contract now, and we're not going away.

Where things stand:

Teachers have now been without a contract for seven months.  That's the longest stretch since 1994. Every day without a fair contract is another day an experienced teacher considers taking a job in Northville, Plymouth, or Novi, districts that pay $10,000–18,000 more per year with less per-pupil funding than AAPS. Michigan ranks 44th in the nation for starting teacher pay, and 75% of Michigan residents support raising it.

It's not just teachers. Paraprofessionals and office staff are also still without a contract.

We're at 150 signatures away from 2,000 and closer to the fair contract our teachers deserve.  Let AAPS, Lansing, and our community know by sharing and signing our petition:
