Friend,
Millions of dogs are suffering in the brutal dog meat trade across parts of Asia, and the scale of the cruelty is staggering. Many of these animals are stolen family pets, taken from homes and streets and trafficked long distances to supply slaughterhouses and meat markets. They are packed tightly into cages or sacks, unable to move, often travelling for days without food or water. By the time they arrive, many are already injured, dehydrated, or dying from the ordeal.
For those who survive the journey, the suffering often becomes even worse. Investigations have documented dogs being beaten, stabbed, strangled, and forced to watch other animals being killed before their turn. In some cases, dogs are subjected to extreme heat while still conscious — including being blowtorched or plunged into boiling water. Terrified animals struggle, cry out, and attempt to escape as flames burn their skin and bodies.
This cruelty is not accidental. In parts of the trade there is a widespread belief that extreme suffering improves the taste of the meat. Because of this belief, dogs are deliberately subjected to prolonged fear and pain before death.
Traders who torture animals in this way must face real consequences under the law. Sign now to demand prosecutions for those responsible for blowtorching and boiling conscious animals. Add your name today and help demand justice for the countless dogs who are still suffering in this brutal trade.
