Friend,
Our investigations team has uncovered a new dog slaughterhouse operating in the Philippines — a brutal roadside killing site where dogs are being slaughtered in secret. This trader is believed to be killing up to two dogs every single day, which could mean more than 700 dogs butchered every year.
The cruelty happening inside this operation is horrifying. Dogs are chopped apart and even blowtorched during processing. This slaughterhouse is operating right now and, unless action is taken, the killing will continue. Despite the dog-meat trade being illegal in the Philippines, it continues in the shadows. Investigators believe over 300,000 dogs are slaughtered each year in this underground trade.
The suffering begins the moment the dogs are captured. They are crammed into vehicles and transported for hours without food or water. Their legs are tied behind their backs, leaving them unable to move, while their snouts are forced into steel cans to stop them barking or biting. Terrified and struggling to breathe, the dogs endure long journeys in agony. The conditions are so brutal that nearly half of the animals die before they even reach their destination.
Those who survive face a violent end. Dogs are clubbed, their throats slit, their fur scorched away with flames, and their bodies hacked apart for the illegal meat trade. Even the dogs who die during transport are processed alongside the living. The danger surrounding this trade is so severe that one informant has already withdrawn after fearing for his life.
