I’ve just gotten off the phone with one of our informants in Ilocos Norte, Philippines, and I’m still shaken by what he told me.
He described a roadside restaurant where dogs are being slaughtered behind the building, while their heads and meat are openly displayed for sale to customers out front.
I’m sorry to share something this disturbing with you, but I believe you deserve to understand what is really happening to these animals.
Our informants say dogs there are bashed over the head, having their throats slit, boiled alive, or dangled over open flames while still conscious. Their bodies thrash violently as their fur burns and their skin blisters while they howl in absolute agony.
