Friend,
It’s Greg here, writing to you from the frontlines in the Philippines. I need to share something that’s been weighing heavily on my mind.
When we rescued Blair, she had a thin piece of metal wire tied tightly around her nose. The wire was cutting into her skin, making it nearly impossible for her to breathe, bark, or even eat. She was crammed into a tiny, filthy cage, surrounded by other terrified dogs. They could see, hear, and smell what was coming.
Blair was waiting to die.

This is the horrifying reality of the dog meat trade. Dogs like Blair are often stolen from loving homes or grabbed off the street. They are tied up, their mouth and legs painfully bound with wire, and thrown into overcrowded cages.
The slaughter is even worse. Some are beaten to death. Others have their throats slit while fully conscious. Many are blowtorched alive, their fur burned off as they scream in agony.
Blair was one of the lucky ones. Thanks to supporters like you, we rescued her just in time. Today, she’s safe, loved, and healing.
But there are still so many more dogs just like her—tied up, suffocating, and starving—waiting for their turn to die.

Here’s the incredible news: I believe AWIP is closer than ever to ending this cruel trade. It’s estimated that only around 300 traders are left in operation. With enough support, we’re determined to shut them all down within the next five years.
Unlike other organisations, we never pay traders to stop. We don’t negotiate with cruelty. Instead, we shut them down, rescue the dogs, and hold them accountable for their crimes.
But to make this happen, I need your help today. Right now, we’re running a 24-hour flash match. Every donation you make will be doubled until midnight tonight. That means your gift will go twice as far to:
- Shut down illegal slaughterhouses.
- Rescue dogs from unimaginable cruelty.
- Push for tougher penalties against dog meat traders.
Friend, will you help us rescue dogs like Blair and finally bring an end to this horrific trade?
This is our chance to make history—to save dogs like Blair and shut down the dog meat trade for good. But time is running out. The match ends at midnight, and we can’t do this without you.
Thank you for standing with us and for giving these dogs a second chance at life.
For the dogs,
Greg Quimpo
Regional Director, AWIP Philippines
P.S. Every pound you give today will be matched pound for pound. Don’t miss this chance to double your impact—donate before midnight.
