The operator, Vasili Platunov, now faces felony animal cruelty charges. His operation was not just cruel, but also illegal, breeding Russian Caucasian Shepherds for sale as guard dogs.
However, Platunov has recently been re-arrested amid fears he was about to flee the United States. This case is not just about the rescue operation, but also about justice for the animals he abused.
