A defenceless dog was discovered aimlessly wandering, her vision obstructed by a layer of adhesive foam that had solidified over her eyes in Benton, Arkansas.

The team from Benton Animal Control came across the distressed dog lying by a road in a residential area, not far from a major highway.

Following the careful removal of the foam by a veterinarian, the delicate skin of the dog bore the imprint of the foam.

The adhesive seemed to have extracted some of her facial hair, leaving behind irritated marks on her forehead.

The authorities in Benton are pursuing leads on a possible suspect, though no legal actions have been initiated as of yet.

No dog should have to suffer such horrendous cruelty.
