In Kharkiv, Ukraine, our frontline rescuers have just rescued Barsik - a dog who has suffered unimaginable cruelty at the hands of his previous owners. He is anxious, scared and in desperate need of care and rehabilitation. Barsik's story is a disturbing reminder of the urgent work that needs to be done to protect animals across the globe.

Our frontline partners were able to remove Barsik from his abusive environment and transport him to a loving foster home in Lviv. Here, Barsik has found warmth, good food, and even a companion, Rex, who shares a similar heartbreaking past. Yet, the road to recovery is long and fraught with challenges.
