Yesterday, our team in Poland executed a rescue operation for a dog that had been ruthlessly beaten by his owner and left to die in the freezing cold. We found him underweight, shy, and shivering in the snow. We've named him Barry.
Barry's story is heartbreaking. He was kept in a barren kennel, with no access to food or water. The psychological effects of his abuse are evident, as he paces his cage, desperate for food. When we gave him his first meal, his excitement was clear but tinged with fear. Without our intervention, Barry would have faced a slow and agonising death.
The road to recovery for Barry is long and challenging. Our dedicated Polish animal carers will need to gently introduce him to the comforts of a home environment, something he has never known. But we can't do it alone. We urgently need your help.
