In a recent case in Canton, Georgia, USA, Mr. Randall Larry Thaxton has been convicted of 9 counts of dog fighting and 7 counts of cruelty to animals. This conviction came after a diligent investigation by the Cherokee County Marshal’s Office, which revealed harrowing evidence of Thaxton's involvement in dogfighting activities.
On Dec. 6, 2022, a search warrant executed on Thaxton’s property uncovered disturbing items associated with dog fighting: workout regimens for dogs, a catalog for training equipment, steroids, medical supplies for treating wounds, contracts for selling dogs, and a dog fighting creed. This evidence, alongside the testimony of 11 witnesses and over 300 exhibits presented during the trial, paints a bleak picture of the cruelty inflicted upon these innocent animals.
The sentencing for Mr. Thaxton is scheduled for next month, and this is where we need your help. Only the maximum penalty, as allowed by law, can truly serve justice in this case and send a strong message against animal cruelty and dogfighting.
