Meet Sam, a little puppy who has already faced more challenges than any innocent young dog should ever have to endure. Our fearless frontline colleagues over in Ukraine stumbled upon him at the side of a road, abandoned and left to fend for himself.
Unfortunately, life had dealt Sam a rough hand. He was hit by a car after being left all alone. We can only imagine how scared and confused he must have been during those moments of abandonment and pain.
But thanks to the unwavering dedication of our colleagues, Sam's story took a turn for the better. He's been given a fighting chance, and we're determined to see him through to a brighter, happier chapter.
Sam's journey, however, is far from over. After surviving the ordeal of being hit by a car, he's now battling gastroenteritis, a vicious infection that has left him fighting for his life in an intensive care unit (ICU) at a veterinary hospital. The strength and resilience he's shown thus far have been awe-inspiring, but his battle is far from over.
The local group we work with in Ukraine has been the anchor that Sam desperately needed. However, they're currently struggling to make ends meet, and that's where we must step up to support them. Our donations have fallen short by a worrying 30%, putting Sam's critical treatment in jeopardy.
