Dear Supporters of Stop the Silent Disco in Canterbury Cathedral,

Thank you for your support and prayers, and thank you to the 25 people who turned up in the freezing rain and darkness on Thursday to pray outside the Cathedral. We gave glory to God outside the Cathedral, while He was ignored and His house desecrated within.

Our petition and vigil alerted the media to the rave in the nave, so we also had a tremendous amount of media coverage, with pretty much every news media covering us on TV, radio and in print. We have had many interviews over the past few days and hope that through them a greater feeling of the importance of the sacred had been aroused in the audience.

For now, no more discos are planned in Canterbury Cathedral, but unfortunately, Canterbury was just the tip of the sacrilegious iceberg.

So we have updated our petition, this time to oppose ALL DISCOS in ALL OUR CATHEDRALS.

We the undersigned oppose all desecration of our historic holy places, and especially their use as nightclubs. Dear Anglican Cathedral Deans, please stop the discos and make the Cathedrals houses of prayer once more.

Please share this updated petition, and allow email updates to hear about protest prayer vigils outside a Cathedral near you. This madness has to stop, together we have the power to make our Cathedrals sacred again.
