Petition updateJustice for Breonna TaylorBreonna Taylor -- Protest Update

After weeks of outreach and attempts to connect to the offices of the Governor and the Attorney General, I am sorry to say that leadership in Louisville is unresponsive. I was hoping to, at the very least, connect with authorities in Kentucky via video conference to discuss state action against the officers that killed Breonna. At the very least, I wanted clear, honest discussion for Breonna's family, and for the American public.

Officer Brett Hankison was fired, as you all know -- but his termination does not even come close to justice. Breonna deserved to live, and the Louisville police department stole that right from her, and continue to lie and mislead the public in their "investigation" of her death.

I refuse to stop fighting until we see real accountability and open discussion from Kentucky officials.

I'd like to plan another, more impactful, virtual protest. I was hoping that the signers of the petition could participate in a single "sleepless night" -- Breonna was not given the right to sleep peacefully in her home, so I will not sleep comfortably in my own home until justice is served. If I set a date, would you participate in one night of no sleep? Through the night, I was hoping to flood the emails of leadership in Louisville, and honor Breonna by taking videos calling for the charges and arrests of the officers involved in her murder, as well as calling for a truthful, transparent investigation into the department, then uploading those videos to social media en masse, and tagging the Governor and Attorney General.

I am beyond exhausted, and tired of our elected officials refusing to see and hear us. Enough is enough.

Will you please participate? Can we sacrifice one night of comfort for Breonna? Let me know. We can set a date for it.

Justice for Breonna.
