Fellow New Yorkers, there are so many promising things happening in the fight for the unborn! Unfortunately, not here in NYS.
In the wake of the abhorrent RHA passed here in January, a sleeping, pro-life giant has been awakened nationally; and it is so good! As evidenced by a number of new abortion-restricting and all-out abortion bans (except in cases of rape and/or incest or when the mother's life is in danger) being passed in various states, like South Carolina!
We know that here in New York, the "abortion capitol of the country", there is a prevalent pro-abortion legacy. At the same time, many formerly pro-abortion proponents, are shocked and outraged, at the swift passage of the RHA, which de-criminalizes abortion, allows for it under dangerously-vague circumstances, up until birth, and removes the requirement that a doctor must perform it; far-reaching for even this, historically liberal state.
The message is loud and clear! MOST women and men do NOT support abortion allowable up until birth. And when the truth of the RHA is laid bare, the majority of New Yorkers, from either a faith-based, medical, or philosophical perspective, do not support 3rd trimester abortions, under such vague terms.
Here in New York, we must build on the nationwide momentum, to declare the unborn baby a legal person, entitled to the right to life, under the protection of law!
Please continue to call/fax your state Senators and Assemblymen, to urge the repeal of the RHA! And please keep sharing this petition and furthering the plight of the voiceless, with all New Yorkers, by engaging in respectful but factual debate over this most egregious human rights violation.
* The article I posted about ways to be pro-active in fighting the RHA can no longer be accessed by direct link. It can be found, however, by Googling "Finger Lakes Times abortion". As of just now, it was the 2nd search result down.
I apologize for the inconvenience; am not quite sure why it is now blocked.
Thank you again, for standing-up for the human rights of the unborn in NYS!
