Thank you everyone who has supported us with signing and sharing our petition, as well as those who have so kindly and generously given a donation. It has come to my attention that out of twenty plus people who generously donated to what they believed was a fundraiser for us, only two actually went to a fund for our mortgage payment. The other eighteen plus people's contributions went to Change. org to promote this petition to others. It is tricky and confusing because Change.org asks people to contribute, and the way they go about it is very unclear. I really appreciate all the donations and any contributions that have been made. We have a Facebook Page for our petition: Please Help Us Get Back Into Our Destroyed Hurricane Sandy Home. A friend of mine who does not have a Facebook started it last year and put me as the organizer, along with a YouCaring.com account because it has lower fees than GoFundMe . There is strength in numbers, and we have become a large group. If everyone was able to contribute a small amount, I would be able to breathe more easily while I try to continue this fight for the Interim Mortgage Assistance. Please don't feel pressured or obligated to give a donation. A donation is not just money--your time, prayers, good wishes, and thoughtfulness mean the world to us.
