Our country is in turmoil: budget woes, wars, health care debates, immigration crisis, an environmental disaster, and grave economic instability both here and abroad. Now is the time to join together to work for solutions and stop engaging in the often times ignorant and hateful rhetoric that we hear so often. Yes, it will be a challenge to shift gears. Yes, there are major disagreements. Yes, there are different ideologies. And yes, there will be compromise required, but we MUST begin a meaningful dialogue to find the answers. And you can help!

As a country,  we are made of better metal than to demonize those who have a different point of view on an issue. We are better than the ignorant and sometimes racist pronouncements we have heard over the last couple of years. We must embrace the challenges we face and do so in a productive manner. This change begins inside each one of us. As Michael Jackson's song "Man in the Mirror" so simply stated:

I'm starting with the man in the mirror
I'm asking him to change his ways
And no message could have been any clearer
If you wanna make the world a better place
