Hi Cash Lovers,
When Adelaide's Ice ArenA announced they were going cashless from 1 April, their customers made their voices heard.
"Dang was gonna bring my kids in holidays but this kinda shiz puts me right off a business... we'll go rollerskating instead! Good luck with all these awful business decisions," said one angry customer.
"This is a fantastic idea if your plan is to keep people away," added another.
A third wrote: "Really unhappy about this and it will mean you have lost my business."
Ice ArenA soon go the message:
"After receiving your feedback, it's clear how important the option to pay in cash is for many of our customers," Ice ArenA said.
"While we're excited to introduce new online payment options for public skating and other activities to make your visits even more convenient, we will continue to accept cash payments at entry.
"We want you to know that your voices matter, and we're committed to ensuring that the Ice Arena remains a place for everyone to enjoy."
Only people power will stop the cashless society.
Banks and retailers want to optimise their profits (naturally), one way or the other.
Banknotes and coins are publicly owned national economic infrastructure.
Bank deposits are private liabilities owed to you, not money owned by you.
Don't let your local retailer (of anything) go cashless without letting them know (respectfully) how you feel about cash and our right to choose how we pay.
If a retailer or venue goes cashless, they need to feel the impact on their bottom line as customers go elsewhere.
All retailers and providers of goods and services must accept our legal tender cash for payment.
97% of Australians support a cash mandate. 80% of Australians use cash regularly.
Our Cash Welcome campaign provides a voice for all of us who trust and rely on cash.
I get donations from people and businesses to my gofundme account to help keep this backlash against their cashless agenda alive.
