Thank you for signing our petition calling for an Australian banking and cash guarantee. This is the exact request that we are making:
We call for an Australian Banking and Cash Guarantee that includes these rights:
1) All Australians must be able to have reasonable local access to cash and full banking services.
2) All Australians must be able to choose cash when paying for food and essentials at physical retailers.
Right now we now face the prospect of our banks going cashless, leaving communities and local economies without easy access to our legal tender - physical notes and coins. We need to act NOW to stop banks limiting our access to our money.
Commonwealth Bank is going cashless.
Macquarie Bank is going cashless.
Meanwhile, other countries are moving to protect cash and the right of their citizens to access and use cash.
The UK is forcing banks to keep ATMs open.
France guarantees cash acceptance by retailers.
Many states in the USA mandate cash acceptance, including New York.
Now is the time to ramp up our campaign.

The cashless society is an agenda of the big financial institutions and card schemes. People want to be able to choose how to pay for essential goods and services. Now is the time to fight this before we lose our rights and freedom to use our legal tender - cash.
