An Attack On D.E.I. Is An Attack On You & I

The Issue

Diversity, equity, inclusion, Critical Race Theory, and  Racial Justice are under a national attack in college and universities's curriculum,  programs, and employment procedures. Nevertheless, the scrutiny of D.E.I progams and initiatives has even gone as far as entering the workplace questioning the qualifications of individuals affiliated with marginalized communities that have a history of being discriminated against or systematically oppressed in this country. Consequently, the national attack of D.E.I is slowly entering George Mason University. The Board of Vistors appointed by Governor Youngkin has planned an attack on eliminating D.E.I programs and initiatives at Mason. However, as students, faculty, and administrative staff, we can lead the charge in this fight against eliminating D.E.I initiatives and progams. By signing this petition, you have a voice to protect progams, including the Center for Culture, Equity, and Empowerment, first-gen student centers, Title IX offices, LGBTQ+ student centers,  student organizations representing black and brown students, and curriculum allowing students to explore conversations about real-world issues and topics. Also, by signing this petition, you are giving future students hope to have these progams and areas of study to prevent our higher institutions from erasing history as we know it. Remember, an attack on D.E.I is an Attack on  You, And I.
