Last weekend the official short film, "A Life of Service": Theodora Smiley Lacey - In the Words of Her Family was screened at the Teaneck International Film Festival.
This 9-minute film offers an intimate glimpse into Theodora Smiley Lacey’s life, as told through the heartfelt reflections of her children. It’s a powerful reminder of the impact one life of service can have on countless others.
As the portrait remains on exhibit at The Newark Museum of Art through December 1st as part of the Newark Arts Festival, we're focused on bringing her story to communities nationwide, in partnership with HBCUs and organizations dedicated to preserving her legacy.
