Proving Support for COOL

U.S. Cattlemen’s Association is putting together a team that will advocate for COOL. Here are our goals at this point. 1. Have people show their support by signing and sharing the Americans Want Labeled Beef Petition. The easiest way in the world to advocate for clear labeling on beef is simply sign and share the petition. This petition will be presented to President Trump's Agriculture Team and USDA-FSIS (agency who regulates the label). 2. Find an ambassador from all 50 states. More than one COOL Team member from each state is welcomed! Each ambassador would be responsible for: (a) Signing onto a letter to President Trump in support of a clearly defined Country-of-Origin Labeling program for U.S. beef products. The ambassador's signature would join 49 others so that ALL 50 states are represented. The Ambassador may be a cattle producer or concerned consumer. Both are important! (b) Send a letter, drafted by USCA, to grocery chain headquarters/retailers/etc. to help them understand the importance of COOL to U.S. consumers and cattle producers. (c) Contact the U.S. Congressional Delegation in their state in regard to COOL as opportunities arise. Please, let me know if you are interested or have names of people who may be interested in joining the cause! Folks don’t have to be a beef producer or USCA member - just interested and willing to learn about the topic. It will take all of us to get this pull together. Excited to hear back from you.
