In 1979, after a stressful childbirth and eleven days with virtually no sleep, I lost touch with reality and has a "Postpartum Psychosis." I received both inpatient and outpatient treatment. The photo with the petition is of me with my son Jeff, on the road to a full recovery. 

I am supporting, Margaret Spinelli MD, Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, in her effort to add this important diagnosis to the DSM.
