LET'S JOIN TOGETHER NOW STRONGER THAN EVER!

Dear signatories to the Declaration repudiating Trump and Trumpism,

It is 44 days until November 3. That is the day the decent people of this country can take back control of our White House, our Senate, our democracy, our society, and our country. We need to pull out all the stops, do all we can between now and then. Please consider to donate of your time, money, and other resources to help the Biden-Harris ticket win, to take control of the Senate, and to win additional races up and down the ballot.

Today, I personally made my final political contributions of the season. Like many of you, I don’t have a lot of money, but I want to do what I can. I donated to the Biden-Harris campaign; to the Amy McGrath campaign to defeat Moscow Mitch (Senate majority leader and chief obstructionist) down in Kentucky; to Jaime Harrison’s campaign to defeat trump’s lapdog and chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee,
Lindsey Graham in South Carolina; to Sara Gideon’s campaign up in Maine to end the political career of drama queen but ultimate trumpist Susan Collins; and to Theresa Greenfield, in Iowa, fighting to take trumpist Joni Ernst out of the Senate.

There are lots of other important Senate races, too, of course: Mark Kelly in Arizona, John Hickenlooper in Colorado, Cal Cunningham in North Carolina, Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock in Georgia, MJ Hegar in Texas, and Steve Bullock in Montana, among others. If you can help any of these Democrats to defeat their trumpist opponents, please do so.

Money, is necessary and important, but there are many ways to contribute. First of all, make sure you are set to vote and that your vote is valid and gets counted. Vote early, if you can and on paper. (My wife and I will be mailing our absentee ballots by registered mail tomorrow from the Czech Republic, where we are stuck because of the covid situation.) Then spend the next 7 weeks doing all you can to get others to the polls. Registration deadlines are running out. Some people need encouragement, or assistance, or a ride to the polling place. What about volunteering to join a phone bank? Do you have a Biden-Harris yard sign (maybe a Republican Voters against Trump or Lincoln Project yard sign, if that is your preference) and bumper sticker? Make a list of people you need to call and talk to who may be wavering or convincible to come over to the side of the decent people. Then get on the phone.

Almost 4 years ago, we created the Declaration repudiating Trump and Trumpism and began attaching our signatures to it, because we are committed to removing trump, defeating the trumpists, undoing the damage this illegitimate occupier of the Oval Office has done, and working and fighting to build a better world and stronger democracy that counters hate and division. In just 45 days from now, we can declare a substantial victory that will give us a strong position to carry the work and fight forward. In order to make that truly possible, please do all you can in this final sprint between now and then.
