As an Oklahoman who has personally experienced the devastating consequences of contracting two permanent sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) from my ex-boyfriend, I am deeply concerned about the lack of adequate legal protection against STD transmission in our state. Currently, Oklahoma's state law does not explicitly criminalize knowingly transmitting an STD to another person without their consent or knowledge. This legal loophole leaves countless individuals vulnerable to life-altering consequences, both physically and emotionally.

To rectify this issue, we call upon our lawmakers to amend Oklahoma's state law regarding STD transmission as follows:
