Ollie is an adorable, playful young boy raised by his beautiful mum, Shannon. The Australian Family Law Court failed to protect this mother-son duo and forced Ollie* an Australian Citizen, to return to the communist country he was born in as a ward of a foreign court.

Shannon, a loving mum to Ollie, was born and grew up in Byron Bay*  Shannon and Ollie's dad broke up before Ollie was born.   

It became very unsafe in the communist country where Ollie was born and Shannon, who was the sole custodial parent decided to move back home to Australia. Ollie's dad returned to his home country and obtained work. Nearly a year later he asked Shannon and Ollie to move to England.

Ollie was settled and happy at home in Australia. He was enjoying his school, his sport and his friends.

Shannon told Ollie's Dad it was not in the best interests of Ollie to move.  

What happened next was a nightmare. 

Ollie's dad, when he realised Shannon would not move to England with Ollie, turned down the job offer he had been given, and went back to the country where Ollie was born.  There he applied to the court asking them to make Ollie a ward of the court.  Shannon's parental rights were removed while she an Australian citizen was at home on Australian soil.

12 months later the Australian Family Law Courts made orders forcing Ollie to be deported to that country as a ward of that country's court. Ollie is terrified to be separated from his mum who can only get a tourist visa for 90 days. She cannot earn money in this country, and she does not qualify for any Australian benefit while overseas. 

It is a failure of our Australian family law courts that they agreed with these foreign orders and made orders that forced Ollie to be returned. Why is an Australian citizen and child subject to another country's laws when they don't live there?  No wonder the ALRC said that the Family Law Court System should be abolished.

Ollie is distressed and frightened while Shannon is doing everything she can to protect her child. We need your help to raise this issue with our politicians to bring Ollie home and prevent any other Australian child from being put in harm’s way like this.

There are other children, like Ollie, who are facing injustice and unfairness, by signing this petition you are saying to our politicians that our children matter, you are asking them to make changes to the law that will save other children and families from trauma and injustice. 

I'm calling on our Attorney General to urgently intervene and let them return home as well as ​ urgently write legislative change to ​stop the wrongful removal and or deportation of children.
