The almighty dollar vs the distant holler. While Animal Shelters across the globe strive for revenue they now offer discounts and payment plans to potential customers - as they should for those lost or abandoned pets, in order to find them homes. However for animals taken for boarding, the fees go higher with timelines that don't seem to even fit the Federal Consumer Proposal Act guidelines. While loving caregivers frantically try to go in debt to save their beloveds, administration tacks on a mightier price tag to get them back or else! In fact, no discounts or payment plans offered in this case. The government forces forfeiture of a person's legally owned animals for non payment as if the little vessels of goodness legally beyond to them - as if. In VietNam permits for wild animals as pets are 1 Million dollars VN currency (4,000 US), or indeed be forced to give up their pet(s) no matter how long they've had them. (There are permits in places around the world for non dangerous animals like certain breeds of monkeys). For example, orphaned monkeys abandoned by their mothers and at risk of poachers, the owners who nurtured and raised them, have to pay to get them back - and don't presume the ones in their "care," are taken for a rightful reason. In Ontario, it's the same for domesticated pets. Shocking? Yes. Solution? Don't. Shelters are paid by the government, or in the example of PAWS, by donations and grants. Again, just why is the govt in charge of pets and pet businesses? They're not, you say? Indeed, they are. (not directed at govt as a whole).
