Thank you to everyone who has been praying for Carmen. She is adjusting to her new class, but she has a lot to catch up on because they made her start so late. As for updates, Mr. Moses came back to the table with information, but none of it addressed the root issues. So, when I wrote him back about why I wanted to continue with the formal grievances, I wrote:
Good afternoon Mr. Moses,
I appreciate the updates, but I see nothing to truly address the violations to law, policy, and ethics codes that I outlined in the grievance. Your verbiage about "miscommunication and lack of communication" appears to be another effort to acquiesce in order to avoid asking the pressing questions:
1) Why did (the counselor) choose not to reveal the no drop policy?
2) Why is CCISD/ CBHS not investigating this ethical crisis that is impacting bright students?
3) Why is CCISD/ CBHS refusing to force (the counselor) to take full responsibility for the weight of her actions? Honestly, I have my suspicions. However because of (the counselor's) egregious actions and the verifiable impact on my child, our family, and the community I refuse to allow the events that precipitated the grievances be dissolved prematurely.
So...our grievance hearing is scheduled for December 4th at 3pm and I'm requesting an open session according to the Open Meetings Act so that anyone in the community can support us in this process. I'll keep you posted.
God bless each of your for your kindness towards us!
