Since launching our campaign we have received well over 100 signatures, which was our original goal. But what struck me is the universality of the sentiment expressed by all who have been kind enough to sign. We have received signatures from all over the world and I ask you to please forward the email along to anyone you know who cares about the law and the ability of lawyers to zealously represent their client's interests without fear of imprisonment. Any lawyer who fights for human rights deserves celebration not incarceration. The more signatures we can accumulate the louder our collective voice will be. In closing, I would like to share with you this photo sent to me by Samar Badawi, the wife of Waleed Abu al-Khair and sister of imprisoned writer Raif Badawi. It depicts Samar and their infant daughter Joud wearing a T-shirt I think we would all be proud to wear. https://twitter.com/WaleedAbulkhair/status/557615432753242113/photo/1 If you are interested in the tremendous work Samar has herself done furthering the rights of women under very arduous conditions in Saudi Arabia, you can click this link to learn more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samar_Badawi Thank you again for your continued support.
