Hello Plastic-free packaging supporters-

Excited to share a QA put together by Kathryn Menu of the Sag Harbor Express. This addresses a lot of my reasoning and plans for the petition: https://sagharborexpress.com/99655-2/?wallit_nosession=1 

I'm also continuing to gear up for my meeting with Congressman Zeldin on Feb 23rd and have been digging into the stats for Amazon, in particular. 

Here are a few key numbers:

*For 2019, around 46% of the U.S. total of 2.5 billion packages were delivered by Amazon Logistics. This is the key reason for targeting Amazon as the sheer volume of a change with this company would have massive impact.

*Amazon sends around 608 million packages to various locations each year. This is equivalent to around 1.6 million packages daily. I'm hoping to have these numbers by state and region to share soon as well. 

*Early stats suggest Amazon contributes over 30 Million tons of waste annually. We are working to refine these numbers and get a more accurate breakdown by composition.
