Well, there was an article posted in our local news about it!
I didn’t get a chance to update on here after my meeting with the manager of the WWTP and the Director of Public Works. I felt too defeated and discouraged honestly. They are nice people and they answered every. Single. Question. I threw at them. I wanted numbers and tests and they showed me those. I just feel like there’s no stopping this process from happening. I still feel uneasy about it all. One thing they mentioned was they only test the soil once every 3 years and they never test the water, which is discouraging to hear.
As much as I really don’t want this to happen in my back yard, I think because they are the City and the University they will do it regardless. I did email the President of OU, mayor of Athens, state rep. And didn’t hear back from ANY of them. They don’t care...
I'm glad the article was posted, maybe wouldn’t have used my name in it and kept it anonymous , but too late now.
