After hours of speakers for and against the music venue being moved to Milton and a long deliberation by the council members, finally at almost 3 am the city council voted unanimously to approve the relocation of Matildas Music Venue with conditions... I was awed by how many of you came to the meeting to support us.. We ordered 130 "I Support Matildas" stickers and didn't have enough to go around... so I want to thank each and every one of you that took the time to come to the meeting or wrote an email to the council... Be assured had you not taken action, the very organized opposition that presented a one sided exaggerated distortion of the negative effects of the music venue being located at the Crossroads would have weighed heavy on the council and the outcome could have been very different.. The council listened to both sides and created a compromise we could live with but with certain limitations. Now the next step is to actually move the Hen House and stage to the new location... An earlier appeal raised almost $4500. which covered the down payment to the house mover... We now need to raise another $5500 to construct the foundation and $4000 for the final payment to the mover... I am not asking you to make a donation but rather to purchase a ticket or tickets in advance to a future show... The link is on website, Matildasalpharetta.com/buytickets. Because of the conditions to approval of the venue, such as a cap on attendance and limits to the number of concerts, we will be raising the ticket price in Milton to $25. but for this fund raising campaign the tickets will remain $20. this week only.
