For over 40 years, my nan has cherished the home in Wednesbury that has been the cornerstone of our family memories. Unfortunately after a short illness she recently passed away.This house is more than just a building; it is a repository of cherished moments, familial bonds, and the very essence of our family’s identity. The history within those walls is intertwined with our lives, and the thought of losing it is heart-wrenching.

I have spoken with several residents in the street, and they have expressed their support for this wish. Our family all live nearby, and it would be very painful for us to see someone else living in my grandmother’s house. This situation would be challenging for us emotionally and practically, as we are often in close contact and my children attend the local schools. Growing up nearby, I was fortunate to experience the strong connections my grandmother had with her neighbours, whom we consider close family friends.

For the past seven years, I have been actively engaged in the bidding system, trying to secure a suitable three-bedroom property. Despite placing 307 bids, success remains elusive, and my search has become a source of constant frustration and stress. I am ready to end this arduous journey and embrace the comfort and familiarity of my nan's beloved home.

Transferring the tenancy of my nan’s property to me would not only honor her legacy but also ensure the continuity of our family’s treasured experiences. By allowing this transition, the council would be supporting a smoothly run household that respects and maintains the character of this long-standing community asset.
