I am an avid boater and it pains me to see Wivenhoe Dam's untapped potential for recreational powerboat use. For far too long, this dam, which is one of the largest water storage facilities in Australia, has been subjected to unrealistic restrictions that limit the full enjoyment and utility of its waters.

With over 109 square kilometers of water surface, Wivenhoe Dam is imposingly well equipped to cater to a variety of water-based activities, including power boating. Despite its massive size and potential capacity to host numerous activities, current regulations drastically limit the use of powerboats in this area. This has inadvertently reduced our ability to fully leverage this great asset for leisure and entertainment.

By granting unrestricted access to powerboats, we can bring a new life to Wivenhoe Dam, providing an additional avenue for recreational activities in our community. This will not only promote tourism but also benefit local businesses and encourage a hoist of potential investments in the area.
