Thank you so much for your follow-up email, and for your patience while I’ve taken the time to consider everything carefully.

I’ve now shared and discussed the petition with both the Chair of Governors and the CEO of the Trust. We also looked at the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill, which is currently being considered in the House of Lords. This bill includes a proposal to limit the number of branded items required as part of school uniforms.

Any changes to our uniform policy would need to go through a proper process, including consultation, policy development, and likely a transition period. So, it’s not something we could change overnight.

If and when the Bill receives Royal Assent, The Minster School will need to review its uniform policy in line with any new guidance. At that point, we’d look at whether including shorts is something we want to explore. There would be a consultation process to make sure everyone’s voice is heard.

I really appreciate the time and thought you’ve put into creating and sharing this petition. It’s something we’ll definitely keep in mind as we move forward.
