Dear ...,

As you know, the number of Ukrainian refugees has reached over 3 million and is only increasing every day. Meanwhile, the US has accepted just under 700 Ukrainian refugees since last October, so practically almost no one. Exceptions are not being made even for families to be reunited with their relatives already here in America.

Many other countries have already announced special programs to admit Ukrainian refugees addressing the ongoing humanitarian crisis, including our northern neighbor Canada, the EU, Britain, and others. Despite repeated promises from our President Joe Biden to help Ukrainian refugees, the US still does not offer any kind of program that would be relevant to the current crisis and address the needs of the people fleeing the war.

According to the Ukraine Take Shelter website, there are an endless number of American families willing to offer a shelter to Ukrainian refugees in their houses all across America. NYC, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, Atlanta, the list goes on and on. Our American people want to help!

So today, together with over 200 people who signed a petition to change the current policy, we demand to allow Ukrainian war refugees into the US, to be provided shelter, food, medications, schooling for their children, job opportunities and mental health support. We also petition the US Government to allow Americans living in the US to foster Ukrainian refugees through this trying time in their lives.

The country’s present failure to welcome Ukrainian refugees is a disappointment, one I hope that with your support, will change.  I still hope that you and your colleagues will do everything in your power to respond to the clear will of so many Americans and act quickly to come to the aid of Ukrainian families in need of shelter from this devastating war.

Sincerely yours,

.....

THANK YOU AGAIN FOR YOUR HELP AND EFFORT!
